Sweat it Out

Very near to my house is a huge bulletin board which advertises 'Buffalo' jeans.
There is always a picture of some young (and I mean very young) teenaged girl trying to look provocative...
the last one was intended to seem like she was masturbating.
I'm sick of these kinds of images. I'm sickof the term 'fat' being used as a pejorative.
I'm sick of advertisers continually pushing the sexual envelope.
I'm tired of female exploitation.
Time to rise up Girls!!

Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the fat child
Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the fat girl
Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the plump young woman
Sweat it out, sweat it out
Shut up you fat bitch....
And they are all casualties
Of the Calorie War
Sweat it out

All the fashion magazines
The television and films
Are all telling you the same thing
Get thinner!
Get thinner!
Get thinner!
Go take some diet pills

I see a billboard on a building
It shows a cardboard thin teen selling jeans
She’s trying to look sexy but I think she’s just starving hungry
She’s like a poster of some third world refugee
And I think
What kind of human don’t just give her bread?
What kind of human takes a starving child to bed?
What kind of human wants to fuck the walking dead?
The walking dead
She’s a casualty of the Calorie War
Sweat it out.

Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the young girl

In the grocery store I see a plump young woman in a shapeless dress
No one really notices her it's like she's hiding in a fortress of flesh
She looks like she’s already regretting the life she thinks she’ll miss
And I'll bet she wonders why nobody even cares who she really is
I bet every time she thinks about it her hunger grows
Every time she thinks about it her hunger grows
Sometimes she wants to grow so large, she shakes the world
Shakes the world!
She’s another casualty of the Calorie War.

Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the plump young woman

When women look into the mirror
We are taught to seek perfection
We say,
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Please let me see less of my reflection
And if we don’t like what we see, we contemplate
Liposuction and Botox injections
Or facelifts or breast lifts,
Maybe start taking medication
‘Cause the last thing we want to face is our own imperfection
And I think
What does it mean to be a woman anyway?
What kind of price is this we have to pay?
What does it mean to be a woman today?
We’re all casualties of the Calorie War
Sweat it out

Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the fat child
Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the fat girl
Sweat it out, sweat it out
They tell the plump young woman
Sweat it out, sweat it out
Shut up you fat bitch
and
We are all casualties of the Calorie War
Sweat it out.
